Key Points:

Romans 7:21 expresses our sin "problem."

Regarding indwelling sin, (1) it is an exceedingly effective power constantly working toward evil, (2) it is on the inside of us, (3) we are aware of its presence even when we are doing "well", and (4) it never ceases in trying to deter us from following God.

With this being the case, three things for us as believers to remember regarding our heart: (1) the work of mortifying sin is never finished, (2) we are to always be vigilant, suspicious, and watchful of it, and (3) commit the whole matter to the only One able to search our heart (Psalm 139).
